Inpatient medical billing for Sydney specialists
DEVZ Solutions supports Sydney surgeons, anaesthetists, physicians and other specialists with online administration for inpatient hospital claims. We operate remotely from Melbourne and have no Sydney branch or physical face-to-face appointments. Initial conversations can take place by phone or video call by arrangement.
Multi-facility surgical billing
Operating across different hospitals can create separate theatre-list formats, admission records and provider-number requirements. A billing workflow needs to distinguish individual inpatient episodes and their applicable claiming pathway before lodgement.
Whether your medical practice is in St Leonards and the North Shore, Darlinghurst and the Eastern Suburbs, Parramatta and Western Sydney or another part of NSW, you can work with DEVZ remotely. These areas describe prospective clients we can serve online, not DEVZ office locations or hospital affiliations.
Scope of our inpatient billing support
- Preparation and lodgement of eligible Medicare, ECLIPSE and private health fund inpatient claims using DEVZ's own secure software.
- Tracking responses, following up rejected claims and supporting claim reconciliation within our agreed scope.
- Administrative support for health fund registrations and authorised outstanding inpatient billing where applicable.
- No consulting-room, outpatient or general-practice billing. Your existing appointment and practice-management systems remain in your control.
An example workflow for a Sydney specialist
For example, a surgeon might operate at two private hospitals while their rooms staff work elsewhere. The practice can securely provide authorised admitted-patient lists to DEVZ rather than giving DEVZ access to the consulting-room system. Missing dates, fund details and treating-provider information can then be queried before a claim is prepared.
A common focus in this market is surgical theatre lists and anaesthetic episodes. Practitioners remain responsible for the accuracy and authorisation of clinical details and item selection. Medicare and health insurers assess eligibility; DEVZ never promises payment of every claim.
How a secure remote handover works
- Discuss your requirements: tell us your specialty, approximate inpatient billing volume and workflow—without sharing patient information in the public enquiry form.
- Agree the secure transfer: arrange how the practitioner will provide authorised inpatient lists and supporting details.
- Review the details: clarify omissions before lodgement. A useful team check is: Are the correct treating-provider number, hospital identifier, admission status and item details recorded for each episode?
- Lodge and follow up: DEVZ works in its own software, tracking the agreed administrative steps and unresolved claim responses.
Transparent fee and payment arrangements
Our agreed inpatient billing service fee is 3.5% of billings processed, plus GST. Any separate registration or onboarding support is discussed when it applies. Medicare and private health fund payments go directly to the practitioner's nominated account, not to DEVZ.

Can we speak face-to-face by video?
Yes, an introductory video consultation can be arranged. Our claim processing and document handover remain online; physical visits are not needed.
