Medical Billing Experts for Australian Specialists
DEVZ Solutions provides focused inpatient medical billing administration for surgeons, anaesthetists, physicians, specialists and locums across Australia. Our work is built around Medicare, ECLIPSE and private health insurance claiming, with experienced follow-up and reconciliation after lodgement.
What medical billing expertise means in practice
Medical billing is more than entering an item number and submitting a claim. Inpatient billing can involve patient and provider information, dates and locations of service, Medicare requirements, private health insurer arrangements, ECLIPSE transactions, provider registrations, rejected claims, remittance information and reconciliation. The correct pathway depends on the actual service, provider, patient and payer circumstances.
An experienced billing workflow keeps those administrative details organised from the time billing information is received until the claim has a documented outcome. DEVZ processes the clinical and billing information supplied or authorised by the practitioner; the treating practitioner remains responsible for the clinical services and billing instructions supplied.
Specialists in inpatient medical billing
DEVZ is deliberately focused on inpatient medical billing rather than trying to be a general practice-management service. We support doctors whose private hospital and admitted-patient work can generate complex billing administration across multiple facilities and payers.
Surgeons
Inpatient surgical billing administration, claim monitoring, reconciliation and follow-up.
Anaesthetists
Administrative billing support for anaesthetic services using practitioner-supplied or authorised billing information.
Physicians
Billing administration for inpatient specialist attendances and applicable claiming pathways.
Medicare and ECLIPSE billing expertise
ECLIPSE is Services Australia’s Electronic Claim Lodgement and Information Processing Service Environment for eligible in-patient claiming. A reliable billing process needs to distinguish between claim types, payer arrangements and return information rather than treating every transaction identically.
DEVZ uses its own secure, Medicare- and ECLIPSE-compliant billing software. We do not remotely log in to your practice’s billing or patient-management software. You securely provide the inpatient lists and relevant billing information through the transfer method agreed during onboarding.
For current operational rules, DEVZ checks authoritative sources such as Services Australia, MBS Online and the applicable private health insurer. Our ECLIPSE codes and health fund ID guide and health fund fee schedule directory also point users back to official sources.
Private health fund billing and gap arrangements
Private health insurance billing can involve insurer-specific registration, provider-location requirements, gap arrangements and schedule rules. These arrangements can change, and participation or benefit eligibility cannot be assumed from an insurer name alone. Current schedules and provider participation should be verified before billing.
DEVZ provides administrative support for applicable private health fund claims and health fund registration workflows. Registration, participation and benefit decisions remain subject to the relevant insurer and current scheme requirements.
Rejected claims need investigation, not guesswork
A rejected or delayed claim is not automatically fixed by resubmitting it. The return information may point to patient details, provider information, fund registration, claiming channels, item data or another administrative issue. The next step should follow the actual response and verified billing information.
Our workflow includes reviewing available return information, checking the supplied billing data, seeking clarification where required and undertaking appropriate correction, resubmission or follow-up when authorised and available. We do not change clinical information simply to make a claim process.

Reconciliation completes the billing cycle
Lodgement is not the end of billing administration. Claims need to be monitored against available payer responses and payment information so unresolved work can be identified. DEVZ reconciles claim outcomes and follows up administrative exceptions rather than treating submission as the final task.
Medicare and private health fund payments go directly to your nominated bank account. DEVZ does not receive, hold or pool your medical income. Our service fee is invoiced separately.
Our own billing software — not remote access to yours
Some outsourced billing models rely on logging into a doctor’s existing practice software. That is not the DEVZ model. DEVZ performs the billing in its own secure billing environment. This keeps the service clearly separated from your practice system and means you do not provide DEVZ with your practice-software login for routine billing.
During onboarding we agree how inpatient lists and required billing details will be transferred securely. Patient information should never be sent through the public website enquiry form, general email or WhatsApp.
Transparent medical billing fees
DEVZ charges 3.5% of billings processed, plus GST, invoiced monthly. That is equivalent to 3.85% including GST. There are no per-claim charges and no lock-in contracts. A $0 setup fee applies where the practitioner is already registered and enabled for the relevant online billing arrangements; registration or onboarding assistance may incur a separate fee where required.

Medical billing expertise without overclaiming
No billing service can guarantee that Medicare or a private health insurer will accept or pay every claim. Eligibility, assessment and payment depend on the applicable rules and the facts of the claim. DEVZ’s role is to provide experienced administration, careful preparation, appropriate follow-up and a clear outcome trail while relying on current official requirements.
