DEVZ Solutions uses its own secure, Medicare- and ECLIPSE-compliant billing software to process Medicare and private health insurance claims. You securely send us your inpatient lists and the relevant patient, service and billing details using the transfer method agreed during onboarding.
We do not remotely log in to, or perform billing within, your practice's billing or patient-management software. Medicare and health fund payments go directly to your nominated bank account. DEVZ does not receive, hold or pool your medical income.
A practical workflow for nationwide inpatient rounds
Some haematologists work across multiple hospitals and locations and need a billing workflow that does not add administrative work to the clinical day. DEVZ Solutions can work from an agreed end-of-day patient list supplied by the doctor or authorised practice team, then complete the billing workflow using the information required for the relevant claim. This can suit specialists covering metropolitan, regional and remote inpatient services.
The patient list itself is only the starting point. Each service still needs to satisfy the applicable Medicare Benefits Schedule requirements and contain the information needed for accurate claiming. Patient, provider, referral, service, hospital and private health insurance information may need to be checked before a claim is lodged.

ECLIPSE and private hospital claiming
Services Australia states that ECLIPSE can be used for in-patient medical claims and allows billing agents to submit eligible claims involving Medicare and private health insurers. Initial and subsequent inpatient attendances
Haematology billing may involve consultant physician or specialist attendance items depending on the doctor's classification, the service actually provided and the current MBS requirements. We do not assume an item number from a patient list alone. The service and documentation must support the item claimed, including referral and other requirements where applicable.
Regional and remote inpatient coverage
A doctor does not need to be based in one metropolitan practice for DEVZ Solutions to support the administrative billing workflow. A nationally distributed inpatient workload can be processed centrally, provided the required service and patient information is supplied securely and the claim meets the relevant Medicare, fund and billing requirements.
End-of-day patient-list workflow
- The specialist or authorised practice team provides the agreed patient/service information securely.
- Required patient, hospital, referral, provider and insurer details are checked or obtained as appropriate.
- The applicable MBS and claiming requirements are reviewed against the service information supplied.
- Eligible claims are prepared and submitted through the appropriate pathway.
- Claim responses, rejections and outstanding items are followed up.
